Research

To carry out their joint research, the PEER members have agreed to establish the following topic-oriented pillars in which PEER scientists work together:

■ Biodiversity and Nature Conservation (Co-ordinator: CEH)

■ Aquatic Ecosystems and Sustainable Water Management (Co-ordinator: SYKE)

■ Contaminated Environments, Risk Assessment and Remediation Strategies (Co-ordinator: NERI)

■ Global Change Impacts (Co-ordinators: ALTERRA / SYKE)

■ Society, Natural Resources and Environmental Policy (Co-ordinator: UFZ)

■ Landscape Planning and Management (Co-ordinator: ALTERRA)

■ Geoinformation (Co-ordinator: CEMAGREF)

These pillars serve as platforms for the development of joint proposals and are open for all interested scientific collaborators, including universities, agencies and other institutions related to environmental sciences. PEER will seek to futher its objectives through close co-operation with other existing permanent networks like CONNECT (Biodiversity) and EURAQUA (Freshwater), in which some of the PEER members are involved.
